What is Kinesiotaping?

KT is currently gaining popularity as an adjunct therapeutic technique, benefits of which include facilitation or inhibition of the muscle function, to improve the proprioceptive feedback to achieve and maintain good body alignment and also support the joint structure.

Kinesio Tape is a specialised elastic tape made of latex-free cotton fibres having no medication effect and designed to mimic the elasticity properties of the muscle, skin and fascia. The elasticity of the tape does not restrict the soft tissue, but supports the weak muscles and creates a full range of motion. It is thinner and more elastic than conventional tape and can be stretched by approximately 40–60% of its resting length.

The recommended duration for wearing the tape is approximately 3–5 days. Kinesio Taping application, in conjunction with other regular rehabilitation programs for the children with cerebral palsy, may positively influence the sensorimotor system resulting in improved voluntary control and coordination.

KT applied to children with spastic cerebral palsy, enhancing sensory feedback and in turn proprioception can be a facilitator for the neurological rehabilitation-driven development of motor control.

Enhance your recovery with our kinesiotaping techniques, which are complemented by our Body Weight Support Treadmill Training, effective treatments for Frozen Shoulder, Balance Training programs, and Aquatic Therapy services for pain relief and improved mobility.
